“ H-Mart was like an international market. Having traveled to 90+ countries, I've been to day and night markets. H-Mart has unique items likely you would not find at standard grocery store. This store is rather eclectic with groceries to dinnerware and cosmetics. There staff members were strategically planted throughout the store. Customers were meandering leisurely throughout the store. It appears to be a very chill environment. ”

“ A friend of mine took me here for the first time recently, and the experience still lingers in my head. I have never been to South Korea before, but if I were to match what I know of this amazing country that I have adopted a lot of the culture of, I'd have to say that you are authentically transported to the markets of Busan or downtown Seoul without fail. The staff was helpful, the selections of "everything" were vast, and you just wanted to open your wallet and tell them "Take my money, please!" at every turn. The seafood was so fresh, the produce, too, and the "noodle aisle" had more options than you realized were available, it was almost overwhelming. The store was clean and busy for sure. People were everywhere, people were smiling, and the vibe was just one of happiness and of purpose to find the best of what you needed at the time. The cashier that I had as my exit point was an older woman. My knowledge of Korean language is okay, so it took her aback when I thanked her and bid her goodbye in native tongue and without missing pronunciation one bit. Her smile was memorable as she did the same. The experience left me with wanting to continue my language studies - which I will in due time. Go around the corner inside the store, and you will find a food court that mimics Korean street food at every turn. There are also small specialty shops and an arcade as well to keep the family entertained. Can't wait to be a frequent visitor here. ”

“ I so WISH we had an HMART in SATX. This is everything and MORE than you could imagine out of an oriental store. 99 out of 100, you could certainly find whatever ingredient you need in this well organized store. We like the fresh fish and seafood area the most and HMART delivers. Plenty of fishy options and well priced too! Look out for weekly specials too & score a deal. Thankfully I usually have a list, and I'm able to check everything off easily. If you have small kiddos, they have designated baby carts (up to age 6, I believe) & even a play area if you felt comfortable leaving them to go grocery shopping. There is an arcade area, tons of games and claw machines full of little trinkets and an entire space for a food court with as many as 12-15 places. ”

“ OK, my fellow YELPERS. I am back after a long 2024. We bought a house we had a baby. We made a lot of grown-up moves. I am now ready to kick 2025 off with some word vomit and goodness for your soul. Let's start here... what can you say about this place? Other than that it is pure heaven when you walk in the store. Your mind is overtaken by the breathtaking smells not only from the in-store bakery, but to the 16 locations that you can definitely dine at. I can't begin to tell you where to start, but I can't tell you this will be a journey. The service at every single restaurant is fantastic super personable and they will definitely recommend things. Also as you walk in you can look to your left and they'll be a board of what to do what to eat and so on From fresh seafood to hot pots to Ramen to sushi to Korean fried chicken to Katsu. You name it they got it and if they don't THEN GTFOH!!!! oh and don't let me forget to mention OH-Kdog .... If you know you know, but if you don't, you need to know. Cheese that will string from your mouth 3 yards away from you onto the other table. I typically crush the beef Bulgogi or the pork Bulgogi or the thinly shaved pork belly, but I could be doing it wrong. I may need some of my fellow yelpers and friends to take me to H Mart and show me the true way how to enjoy such a wonderful place like this if you've never been you need to literally get right with yourself. Go check this place out. It is worth every dollar you spend at the three spots you're gonna eat at just so you can try everything ”

“ H Mart is an absolute treat! If you need food, drinks, seafood, kitchenware and small appliances. H mart has everything! I went in just to look around since I've heard so many good things about the store but I spent way too much here. Not only is it the best place to find any and all types of Asian food that you're unable to purchase at other store, the food court was unbelievable. After I checked out, I walked to the exit and passed an entire arcade of games but right after all that was a massive food hall of all types of Asian food. Ramen, Korean corn dogs, sweets. You name it! It was a little rough to speak with the workers there since they were all super busy and moving really fast but I found everything I was looking for. Totally worth the trip!! ”

“ If you are asian you KNOW this is a big deal! I am from hawaii. Moved to TX and YES i drive a freeking hour 1 way to come here. This place is on a monthly rotation. If I lived closer Id come here weekly. This is asian awesomeness. A Korean chain grocery store with an independent small eateries and shops inside. You can make a day of expanding your cultural mind to many foods and awesome people watching. Bring some adventurous friends and come hungry. What should you do? 1. Don't panic.. there are very little white folks here. Duh its an asian grocery store. 2. Before you go in... STOP at 85degrees. Its right around the corner of the hmart building. Get yourself some iced coffee, boba or hot/cold tea and the MOST amazing fresh pastry sweet or savory bread! Its Taiwanese. Not too sweet. Yes us asians eat carbs. Live a little and grab some choco bread, iced salted caramel coffee (25% sweet) you can adjust the sweet. Most breads are priced around 2.50-3.50. Yes buy a bunch and try them all. The line can be hella long sometimes. Yes its worth the wait. 3. OK now go on a grocery adventure.. grab a cart, start in the fruit and veggie section. You will see amazing seasonal fruit and its always delish. Dragon fruit, many different types of citrus, golden kiwis. The veggie and fresh tofu isle is a sight to be seen. Garlic, fresh ginger to make wellness shots very cheap here and WAY better quality than HEB. Cruise around the isles. -Dry goods, asian glass ware, japanese rice cookers, hot pots. Small korean skin care, skip this and go visit the small shop by the food court for korean sheet masks and other cool kbeauty items. -live seafood section in the back including fresh sushi grade fish -isles are arranged here by korean noodles, asian spices (Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai, Pilipino, and small Mexican area. Isle must stops 1. Snack isle. All sorts of savory chips. Try some! Its soo good esp with some beer. 2. Candy/sweets isle. Be adventurous. Strawberry or matcha kit kat? Japanese gummies and hard candies. Poppin cookin kits.. do with kids or adult friends (you tube has videos so you dont need to get lost in the Japanese) 3. Sauce isle -OG sriracha (huy fong foods brand.. the OG rooster symbol brand). Came out of cali and no other knock offs can come close. Used to make the "spicy" in most spicy rolls in sushi houses. -soy sauces. Japanese kikoman is the OG most sushi houses use. It it that different? YES. -sambal oelek by same huy fong group look for the rooster..(chunky chili sauce). Great to slather on eggs, dumplings sauce. Liven up chicken wings. A small spoonful goes a long way. 4. Beer/Sake/Shoju isle. -great Japanese sakes.... get it here -koren shoju (wine) served iced! Treat it like vodka for a mixed drink. Soo many fun flavors -beers.. many to try and so good from all over asia -ramune soda so fun to drink.. you shove the marble to pop it open. The flavors Melon, grape, all great. -the calpico is also delish. A milky light drink served COLD hits the spot. Its NOT Carbonated. My kids are obsessed. Tons of teas and instant coffee that is awesome. 5. Ramen and noodles. Instant and stove types. -the viral budak all flavors are here. It will go down like fire and come out of your buttocks like a rocket. Tons of rice papers for spring rolls, udon, korean sweet potato noodles pho noodles, and everything else you never knew you needed. 6.Last isles of frozen foods, back section of kim chee fresh or flown in from korea. Korean rolled sushi (diff flavor profile than Japanese sushi rolls). Japanese mochi icecream and all sort of fun asian dairy treats. check out.... There is usually NO pleasantries at the check out. Its NOT you. Its just the hmart cashier vibe.... No smiles... all efficiency. Its like that no matter what state you are in. Food court. Do NOT go on the weekends during lunch. It gets SUPER crowded. Go mid week during lunch or have a early lunch on the weekend 11. Or 2ish. Where to check out? My favs. 1. OK dog. The viral pull cheese Asian hotdog stand. -get the Half mozzarella half hot dog -my fam prefers all mozzarella. 5.00 for a fried hot dog? Yes its like 1/2 a lb... -the potato dogs are popular too. -go to the condiment area to the left. ADD. -drizzle garlic sauce (if you like garlic) its white crack. Soooo good. -dust with tons of hot Cheetos -grab some cups at register to try the other "dusts". Skip the American ketchup, mustard etc. cheese pulls makes a great Insta/tiktok moment. The crunch so good. Try cool egg breads also. The peach slush delish. Hot dog all moz. 11/10 2. Katsu house a few stalls down -curry katsu is huge and delish 8/10 3. Sushi place at the front of the food court. 7/10. 4. Tons of other hot soup, noodle and korean fried chicken ...so be nosey.. look at what others have and ask if its good.. And thats your adventure to a Korean grocery store.. you're welcome. ”
